With Regionals only 82 hours away..... the Dogs are at it again this year...
1. Good start on the year
2. Strong showings at tournaments, beating notable teams (Minnesota, UNC-W, Kansas, Middlebury)
3. And..... INJURIES.
The Dogs are going into this weekend wounded, but not dead.
With captain Andrew Roca still in a cast (short cast by tomorrow), Captain Morgan at his brother's wedding, freshman star Mike Hickson with a broken wrist as well (attempt at layout-greatest-flick FAIL), versatile Quint "Franchise" Wharton stuck in a dead-beat job, Brandon "COLD SHAW" Shaw with a knee injury, and solid Brandon "HuckCity" Geick available for one day (but be ready for Geick to make Saturday JUDGEMENT DAY.)
BUT............. THERE IS HOPE ON THE HORIZON. 3 months of rest has done captain Phil (P-Money) Stokes good; as he is up and running*. The Ambiguously Gay Duo (Jeff "Track Star" Surmin and Jon "Cheetah" Beilan) will be running the weekend with their relentless defense, tireless cutting, and quick handling. Speaking of handling, Nick Ricke will stiill somehow find a way to throw a 70yd huck into hurricane winds.
The freshmen and newly vets are starting to click and are beginning to step up into bigger roles. Like Matt "I can't believe he has a hand-webbing injury" Reedy taking on the wily handler position, Thomas "SLOOOW-BANGO" Bobango taking a break on hurting other players and starting to come down with some nasty D's and scores, Kyle "KY" Bettis being the golden boy Coach Bill has dreamed about, AND Charles "In Charge" Andrews continuing to get some NASTY D's.
you getting tired of nicknames and run-ons? .........................IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'RE GETTING TIRED!!!!!
If you think the Dogs are gonna be a cake-walk at Regionals... you're gonna be sadly mistaken and you're gonna regret it.
The Dogs are looking forward to the "presumed" pool play schedule of playing V-Tech, rival Emory, and strong kids on the block Virginia.
Be looking for the Dogs to upset some teams and maybe even end a season or two.... we wouldn't mind keeping the tradition of ending UNC-W's run at nationals ALIVE!
The Dogs are going into Regionals with nothing to lose this year, so let's hope for a bright and shiny weekend because maybe the sun will shine on this underDOG's ass.
